This retreat was a precious gift. I had been longing for the chance to rest in Him and to listen for His direction, yet in my home/work environment I hadn’t been able to find that precious quiet place.
The prior year had been a blessing but also a great physical, spiritual struggle. During my time at Faith Foundry God helped me to stop and think about what He expects of me and analyze what was keeping me from being the person He created me to be. I was struck again by an overwhelming glimpse of His love, compassion, and attention to even our basic needs. How beautiful it is to allow ourselves the time to be loved by our Creator! Since I had the blessing of being able to share the retreat with ___, I was struck with the awesome realization of God’s love as expressed through true, heart derived and spiritually enriched friendship.
His love pours down like rain and abounds beyond comprehension. My greatest challenge is to stop running/rushing/working long enough to realize I’m being drenched in it.
After an incredible night’s sleep, I woke at 3:00 a.m., pulled out my journal and began writing. God gave me a daily plan to achieve a healthy balance. He left nothing out and I know what I need to do.
I’m brought back to the question Chuck asked both ___ and I at the start of our retreat, “Are you willing?” Thank you, Lord, for this precious time at Faith Foundry.
